Colorado is experiencing widespread increases in the enrollment rates for food, cash, and medical assistance programs. The State of Colorado is utilizing communication and Web-based interactions to respond to the demand for increased client and community outreach capabilities from its public service agencies. In order to meet these diverse needs, the State is working to implement revolutionary enhancements that will allow it to continue to improve the lives of its citizens.

The Colorado Program Eligibility and Application Kit (PEAK) is the flagship tool that will allow the State to meet these new service needs. The PEAK website is designed to provide clients and community partners with a modern and easily accessible tool to apply for public assistance benefits. Applicants can complete a PEAK Application online and electronically submit the application to their County Offices (Apply for Benefits), as well as report changes to their cases (Report My Changes).
Applicants can also use the Am I Eligible functionality to see if they might be eligible for Food, Medical, or Cash Assistance or the Check My Benefits functionality to check their status online, once they have been determined as being eligible for benefits.

Colorado PEAK® creates new opportunities for screening, application, and client information updates that do not require assistance from a county or state employee. In addition, care providers are able to make applications on behalf of their clients, further streamlining the application process.

PEAK puts control of public assistance benefits applications back in the hands of the clients and increases client self-sufficiency. Using this program, the State of Colorado is able to ensure the Colorado Benefits Management System's performance is being enhanced to meet increasing and changing client needs, improving customer service, and improving statewide accountability for public assistance.
